Dickson Praises £3m Fund to Assist Micro-Businesses Move Online

East Antrim Alliance MLA, Stewart Dickson, has welcomed a Covid-19 micro-business e-commerce grant to help retailers expand online.

Stewart Dickson MLA, praised Invest Northern Ireland for the initiative, stating that: “It has been an exceptionally difficult time for smaller retailers who rely on face-to-face operations for the success of their businesses. It is much more difficult for smaller businesses to transfer their operations online, so the support this fund provides will be of immeasurable value to many.”

Mr Dickson added: “We all hope to see the return of the high-street as soon as is safe and possible, but until then, ensuring these important enterprises have a presence online is crucial for them to continue trading.”

Retailers who employ less than 10 people and maintain a trading premise, are classified as micro-businesses, and can seek support for their e-commerce and digital marketing strategy.
