If you are in need, Carrickfergus food bank vouchers are available from my office, or food back website
East Antrim MLA, Stewart Dickson, joined Trussell Trust Foodbank volunteers and TESCO staff to support their Fund Raising Day at the Carrickfergus store.
Stewart Dickson said: “I continue to be a supporter of this charity and the Trussell Trust, which provides three days’ emergency food to more than one million families in crisis, including 400,000 children.
“I am also delighted that the Trussell Trust, received Charity of the Year Award at this year’s awards. The Trust has a nationwide network of more than 400 foodbanks.
“It was a privilege for me, to once again observe TESCO customers donating so generously to the Foodbank Team at TESCO. I was delighted to discuss the growing need for foodbanks with volunteers Margaret Hunter and Elaine Sloan together with the TESCO Community Champion Anne Ritchie.
“I was also impressed with the Trusts smart new green tabards having rebranded from last year’s bright yellow.
“I would ask anyone wanting to donate much needed foods to deposit such items as tinned goods, cooking sauces, coffee, UHT or powdered milk, sugar, jam and marmalade etc. it would be greatly appreciated, and I assure you, put to good use.
Mr Dickson concluded: “Should anyone have a genuine need for the services of the Carrickfergus Foodbank they can access the service by calling into my Constituency Office or calling us on 028 9335 0286”.
