East Antrim Alliance MLA, Stewart Dickson, has expressed his disappointment that iconic High Street travel agency, Thomas Cook has ceased trading. Mr Dickson commented: “It feels like Thomas Cook has always had a presence in towns across Northern Ireland, and it is sad to see this 178-year-old company go. Dickson Welcomes Financial Boost for the Third Sector

Alliance MLA Stewart Dickson has welcomed news that the voluntary, community and social enterprise sector will benefit from £16 million from dormant bank and building society accounts in Northern Ireland. Dickson Welcomes Cut in Gas Prices

East Antrim Alliance MLA, Stewart Dickson, has welcomed the announcement by Firmus Energy that it will cut its gas prices by 8.77%. Firmus Energy says this will see the average home save around £54 per year on its natural gas bill. Mr Dickson commented: “As the cost of living continues to rise, it is unusual to see a cut in the price of utilities, especially with the rises in electricity tariffs we have seen recently. It is good to see a fall in the cost of gas to partially offset these energy rises, and reduce the cost for families to keep their homes warm this winter."

Dickson Encourages People to Join Organ Donation Register

East Antrim Alliance MLA, Stewart Dickson, has called on local people to consider joining the organ donor register, if they have not already done so. Mr Dickson commented: "It’s Organ Donation Week, and so it’s the perfect time for people to join the organ donation register. "I think most people want to donate their organs when they pass on, however only 43% have signed the NHS Organ Donor Register. Many may not realise it, but it is such a simple and quick process, and it can save so many lives.
